Most women can appreciate a stunning shoe when they see one but one question I always get asked at Kurt Geiger, is how to style them up properly? Usually the heels that get the most love and attention are always the ones that are more bold and daring in their aesthetic. I’ve gathered my 10 favourite heels from S/S 17 and styled each one up! This is just my taste but for people concerned about how to work a statement shoe into their wardrobe I hope you’ll agree that these outfits, work really well with the shoes I’ve picked. For anyone worried about investing into what appears to be some ‘wear one time’ styles, I hope you’ll find after reading that these work with pieces that most women already have in their wardrobe (or a version of the pieces as I’ve included a lot of luxury brands). Sorry to anyone who is a few hundred pounds down after reading… But you’ll have an amazing purchases on the way so I’m not really sorry. 😉 xxx
This design gets so much attention in our Aberdeen Kurt Geiger store! Showcasing several trends at once (brocade, ruffles, jewels) it is certainly an eye catching piece. This is defientely something ladies are worried about investing her pennies in. Black, emerald green and fuchsia are all colours you want to stick to! And they say 50% of any woman’s wardrobe is black therefore this would be great for pairing up with outfits later! I’ve styled them up with lace garments which really compliment the brocade.
This shoe is all about the glamour! Feathers have been so on trend this season and they really offer the classic court a modern and exciting twist. I can definitely see how some ladies might think it’s a little ‘las vegas’ but you just have to make sure you keep the styling minimal. Too keep the overall chic and clean for summer I suggest styling it up with bright white. Something like this playsuit will give the lavishness of this shoe the minamilism is needs.
Our ombre court shoe has probably been our most successful court shoe style yet. This comes in a number of other colours but I personally think this one is the one that ladies struggle to style! To compliment the pop of colour I would extend the bright orange to the bag and throw in some metallic for a really fun and summery look! The white ruffle shirt finishes the look off nicely!
This amazing chunky, platform heel looks good with just about anything! Pink velvet and pearl embellishment is so on trend on this season. For a modern minimalism keep the styling colours neutral. This raw edge t-shirt paired with the silky long slitted skirt makes for an interesting unlikely pairing. The structured bag will help pull the look together!
These famous courts from Valentino are such a great piece for anyone! A timeless court in an almost nude pink shade lends its self to anything soft and feminine in your wardrobe. They look fantastic with this sheer shirt and floaty trousers. Add the matching tote bag to turn this very elegant outfit into a day look.
This evening sandal should definitely be reserved for a sexier outfit/occasion. The rouched silky netting at the back can be complimented with this netted blouse and its gathered cuffs. Make sure you have one of your nicer bras on underneath as this blouse really does bare all. The lace pencil skirt is long enough to balance how much skin you’re showing but shirt enough that the shoes do not get lost in the outfit. This two piece set doubles up as your LBD!
All your favourite on trend colours tied up in one shoe! Rich purple, emerald green, bright lime and expensive red are all great colours for wearing on a shoe. Most people will find at least one colour here that they cannot pull off when wearing in the form of a shirt. But wearing these bold shades in a shoe can give you that pop of colour your outfit was needing without having to worry about skin colouring (I know myself that lime yellow completely washes my fair skin out). Pick another deep toned colour for your top half and style up with some white or cream trousers to clean every thing up. This printed bag will stop the outfit looking too colour blocked.
These stunning butterfly sandals in summery pastel shades is such a great ‘go-to’ for those summer evenings abroad. This elegant yet statement shoe would look amazing with a number of of different outfits but I’ve chosen to style these up with a classic white cotton dress. I’ve then selected some more pastel shades to accessorise with. Both these earrings and clutch bag and have this bohemian feel to them which makes them perfect for a more casual holiday evening.
These lace up chain mail platformed boots are the first thing I would buy if someone gave me £1300! The obvious way to style these would be with long leather trousers so I’ve decided to style it up differently to show you the versitility potential. A victorian inspired white ruffle dress adds a real feminine quality to such an edgy style of shoe. Sinch in the waist with a black leather effect belt and a micro sized handbag. Be sure to keep all hardware silver to match the shoes!
Seventies are back! This shoe is amazing for when your looking for some attitude but don’t feel like wearing extremely high courts. The platform and ankle strap stop you from being too vertical and will therefore be surprisingly comfortable. I’ve styled this with a smart suit trouser and shirt. Perfect for an evening work event. The clutch is big enough to keep the look casual and the embellishment matches the collar of the skirt. Do a messy bun for the hair!
